Meet Prerna

People often ask how a crochet hobby grew into MiniHappenings.

I never imagined it would.

When I began sharing my creations online, it was simply a way to document what I was making and celebrate the little milestones along the way. Over time, friends, family, and eventually complete strangers started reaching out to buy a piece they had seen or learn crochet themselves. Those conversations slowly became the foundation of MiniHappenings.

Before this journey, I spent several years working as a UX researcher, building on earlier experiences in Information Design and Software Engineering. Those experiences shaped the way I think about design, creativity, and the experiences we create for others. Even today, they continue to influence how I build MiniHappenings.

Every creation is still made by hand, one stitch at a time, in small batches and with great care. While MiniHappenings began with crochet, my dream has always been bigger than a handmade shop. I hope it grows into a creative space where people can discover thoughtful handmade products, learn new skills, slow down through workshops, and celebrate the joy of making together.

Thank you for being here at the very beginning. Whether you've come to find a gift, learn crochet, or simply follow along, I'm so grateful our paths crossed. I can't wait to share everything that's still to come. ♡

Meet Akshay,
my partner
in everything.

My forever cheerleader, sounding board, occasional voice of reason, and the person who has somehow survived all my ideas along the way. 😄

He has seen the late nights, the endless to do lists, the behind the scenes chaos, the little wins, the occasional meltdowns, and pretty much every version of this journey.

We have been doing projects together since college, then worked on real world projects, and now somehow found ourselves here, building MiniHappenings in our own way.

While I am the one running MiniHappenings day to day, he has been right there behind me through it all, always cheering me on, listening to my ideas, and reminding me to keep going when things get a little overwhelming.

I am very grateful to have him as my support system in this venture and, more importantly, in life. 🤍

Little things that make me happy :)
